The Emirates Road Cycling Club is blessed with numerous places to ride in the UAE, here are our main contenders, our Google Map also has starting locations for most of these rides, that you can navigate to, or use our dropped pins to navigate
Al Qudra cycle track (the Lollipop) starts about 10km from Arabian Ranches and Motorcity, it is a bike-only cycle track initially running alongside the Al Qudra Road. Distances can be varied from 50km up to 120km. Here is a time lapse of the 50km loop part of the lollipop, with the Emirates Road Cycle Club EKRCC, many of our club rides start from ZADS
The Meydan Cycle Track at Nad al Sheba (NAS), is a 8.2km loop for bikes only, with a sealed all weather surface. Fantastic training venue, with great view of the back of the Burj Khalifa. The track is floodlit, and there are changing rooms and toilets. Hopefully someday to be joined up all the way out to the Al Qudra track.
Jebel Jais, a real test for any cyclist, 20km of climb, but at a nice constant 5-7% gradient. Start slow and tap it out, unless you are a climbing whippet! Here is a video of the ride down.
Jebel Hafeet is the UAE’s steepest hill climbs, guaranteed to test your mettle, the good news is the ride down is much easier, just a little scarier!
The Showka – Hatta loop is another for the climbers to exercise their quads on, bit faster but can be demanding
Small Madam is a firm favourite for ERCC club rides, undulating terrain and suitable for all level of riders
Dubai Autodrome opens every Wednesday for evening riding
Run on the floodlit 2.46km Club Circuit, this nice short ride will get your legs, lungs and heart pumping on the mini-hill. Well supported with bike hire sometimes available, as well as drinks and even massage! Check the Revolution Cycles Dubai website, but generally every Weds from 6pm to 9pm
